NearNow is a software connector that lets AI assistants search public-places data from OpenStreetMap. This policy explains what information we handle when the service is used.
NearNow has no accounts, no sign-up, and no forms. When an AI assistant answers a question using NearNow, we do not receive or store your name, email address, phone number, or message content. We never see your conversation with the assistant — only the structured search parameters the assistant chooses to send (for example: a category, an area or coordinate, and filters such as “open now”).
Like nearly all internet services, our servers keep short-lived operational logs that may include the requester's IP address, timestamps, and the structured query parameters listed above. We use them only for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and keeping the service reliable. Logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days and are not sold or shared for advertising.
To answer a query, NearNow forwards the search parameters (such as an area name like “Pasadena, CA”) to open-data services: the Overpass API and geocoding services (Nominatim / Photon) operated by the OpenStreetMap community. Those services have their own privacy practices; see the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy. NearNow does not forward any conversation content or identity information, because it never receives any.
NearNow sets no cookies, shows no ads, and does not sell or share personal information. There is nothing to opt out of.
Because we do not maintain records of personal information, we typically hold nothing about you to access, correct, or delete. If you believe otherwise (for example, you think your contact details appear in our operational logs), email us and we will investigate and honor verifiable requests as required by applicable law. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising privacy rights.
NearNow is a data tool for AI assistants and is not directed at children under 16.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date. Material reductions in privacy will not be applied retroactively.
